The considerable difficulties encountered in taking truly representative and undisturbed samples of masonry structures have resulted in the need to develop continually more innovative and reliable methods and equipment. The use of investigation methods with flat jacks (single or double) allows for evaluation of the mechanical properties of masonry structures. In addition to a Hydraulic KIT, the complete system for carrying out tests with flat jacks requires a deformation reading system – a MECHANICAL DEFORMATION METER – and equipment for performing cuts – a MANUAL SHEARING MACHINE.
