Pull Out
The KATA – Pull-out instrument is used to perform extraction tests on metal components pre and post-inserted into concrete, with the aim of estimating the mechanical resistance of material. The KATA series Pull-out Extraction test instrument is classified as a “semi-destructive” test as, during test performance, a part of the element material being investigated is “torn” together with the dowel. The mechanical characteristics of concrete are therefore assessed measuring the force necessary for extraction of the previously inserted dowel. The test is performed connecting the test dowel to a hydraulic jack which, when pressurised, “extracts” it. The force measured by the pressure gauge is then analysed and compared with correlation curves to determine material resistance.
